About

Hi, I'm Lontchi Loïc Steve — I sign my commits Mesha Vegas. I'm a full-stack and mobile developer based in Bafoussam, Cameroon, with 4 years of professional experience since my software engineering degree at the Institut Africain d'Informatique.

I build web and mobile applications for clients in Cameroon, Europe and Canada: a homecare management SaaS in the UK, a print marketplace in Yaoundé, a driving-school platform designed to work offline, fintech products that collect payments through Mobile Money.

What I'm good at

  • React Native / Expo mobile apps that hold up on entry-level devices and intermittent connections.
  • End-to-end Mobile Money integration (MTN MoMo, Orange Money): webhooks, idempotency, reconciliation — the part everyone underestimates.
  • Backends and APIs: Node.js / NestJS, Go, Spring Boot. Layered, testable, documented architecture.
  • Shipping to production: Docker, CI/CD pipelines, VPS or AWS deployment.

How I work

I start by understanding the business before writing a line of code, ship in short iterations you can actually test, and document what I leave behind. A delivered project should be picked up by someone else — including you.

This site

This portfolio is a project in its own right: server-rendered with TanStack Start and React 19, content version-controlled in the repository, bilingual FR/EN, with Schema.org markup and an llms.txt for agents. The details are on its own project page.

Frequently asked

Do you work with clients outside Cameroon?
Yes. I work remotely with teams in Europe, Canada and across Africa, in English and French. The time difference with Europe is zero to two hours.
How long does a Mobile Money integration take?
Two to three weeks for one operator, end to end: initiation, webhooks, failure handling and reconciliation. The slow part isn't the happy path — it's making the system reliable when a transaction fails.
Can you take over an existing project?
Yes, that's a large part of my work. I start with an audit of the existing code and infrastructure, then propose a takeover plan that prioritises whatever is blocking the release.
Do you handle deployment too?
Yes. Docker containerisation, a CI/CD pipeline (GitLab CI or GitHub Actions) and production rollout on a VPS or AWS. You end up with a project you can deploy without me.
